বৌদি গোলাপ- অসিত প্রতিহার দেওরকে ভুলিয়ে-ভালিয়ে তার বাবার বাড়িতে নিয়ে আসেন বাবার বাড়ি ঐ সারেঙ্গা থানার চিংড়া গ্রামেই। তারপর থেকে অসিত প্রতিহারের কোনো খোঁজ পাওয়া যাচ্ছিল না। ১৩ ই সেপ্টেম্বর গোলাপ শ্বশুরবাড়িতে ফিরে যান, কিন্তু অসিত প্রতিহারকে না দেখতে পেয়ে ওই পরিবারের অন্যান্য সদস্যদের সন্দেহ হয়, আর এই সন্দেহ বশবর্তী হয়েই ১৭ ই সেপ্টেম্বর অসিত প্রতিহারের খুরতুতো ভাই স্বপন প্রতিহার স্থানীয় সারেঙ্গা থানায় একটি লিখিত অভিযোগ দায়ের করেন। তবে ২৪ ঘন্টার মধ্যেই পুলিশ গোলাপ ও তার প্রেমিক গোপাল কে গ্রেপ্তার করে।এই ধৃত দুজনকেই চাপ দিতেই খুনের কথা স্বীকার করে, পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা যায় ৫ই আগস্ট পরের দিন ৬ই আগস্ট এই ধৃত দুজন অপরাধী অসিত কে নিয়ে নন্দকুমারের খঞ্চির উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দেন অসিত প্রতিহার কে জানায় ওরা গোপাল জানার আদি বাড়িতে অনুষ্ঠানে যাচ্ছে
বলে ভুল বুঝিয়ে প্রায় দেড়শ কিলোমিটার দূরে এই খঞ্চিতে নিয়ে আসে। সম্ভবত ওই দিন রাতেই ৪১ নম্বর জাতীয় সড়কের ধারে মাথায় আঘাত করে খুন করা হয় অসিত কে। আজ পায় দেড় মাস পরে সেই তদন্তে নেমে সুদূর সারেঙ্গা থানা ও নন্দকুমার থানার সহযোগিতায় এই খঞ্চিতে নিখোঁজ অসিত প্রতিহারের দেহ অনুসন্ধানে আসেন। আজ এই ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে খঞ্চি সংলগ্ন এলাকায় হুলুস্থুলুস পরিস্থিতি।অনুসন্ধানের সময় এলাকায় প্রচুর মানুষের উপস্থিতি লক্ষ্য করা যায়। এই ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে ব্যাপক চাঞ্চল্য ছড়িয়েছে এলাকায় ।
